(RE)VERSIONING
(re)versioning explores the interplay between material and process. 96fps expands upon the system utilized in IV Phases, the letterpress printed film allows for a more vibrant projection, while also integrating the system used in letterpress printing, the grid. The printed imagery on the film references the innumerable possibilities achievable in the commercial printing process through the use of CMYK, in conjunction with varying halftones and line weights.
1’00” consists of the same film strips used in 96fps and presents the number of overlapping frames that occur when viewing 96fps for one minute. The woven film strips present the film installation in a moment of stasis and directly correlates to the grid used in the letterpress printing process.
